Aryanna Harrell, Founder of Wine Style Shop and Social Media Marketing Professional

This week's Wedding Wednesday feature is Mestiza Tastemaker and bride-to-be Aryanna Harrell who shares a little bit about her business and upcoming nuptials!

Introduce yourself!

Hello! I am Aryanna Harrell (soon to be Aryanna Morgan) and I am a 30-year old marketing and social media professional living in Columbia, South Carolina by way of Los Angeles and Tampa, FL. In my free time, I run the wine, style & lifestyle blog and Instagram account Rosé & Chambray (@roseandchambray) and wine apparel store Wine Style Shop. I love traveling, watching TV shows, the beach, cooking, spending time with friends, and drinking + learning about wine. I’m marrying my boyfriend of 9.5 years at the end of this month and can’t wait for this new season of life!

What characteristics (cultural, personality, etc.) make you unique?

One thing that people don’t realize is that I am pretty introverted and can be very shy! Making new friends and being super bubbly don’t exactly come easily or naturally to me, but once I get to know someone and feel safe around them, the more extroverted side of me comes out.

What motivated you to start your blog, Rosé and Chambray?

I had always wanted to start a blog, and one day after my dad sent me a YouTube video about following your dreams, I decided to take the plunge! At the time, I didn’t see anyone combining wine and style, and that is exactly when I wanted to see. I wanted to create a space where women of all shapes, colors and sizes could gain confidence in their style and their knowledge of wine, so Rosé & Chambray was born.

On your website you mentioned that you are a Rosé lover and WSET Level 2  certified wine professional. What are some of your favorite brands of Rosé that you  recommend?
Yes! In 2015 I received my Level 2 Certification from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust, and at the time I started Rosé & Chambray in 2017, I was drinking a LOT of rosé & wearing a lot of Chambray haha. I have tried so many amazing rosés over the years, so it’s hard to pick a favorite. But some brands/wineries I always like to have on hand are:
Wölffer Estate Summer in a Bottle Rosé
Miraval Rosé
Bonterra Organic Rosé
Laurent Perrier Cuvée Rosé Champagne
La Fête du Rosé

How do you interpret “invest in yourself?” and what are the types of things you do to invest in/empower yourself?

I interpret “investing in yourself” as making a financial or emotional commitment to doing something that is going to improve your life, confidence, health and/or wellbeing. The types of things that I invest in are education, high-quality clothing, experiences, skincare products, home decor and wine. When looking to grow your brand or business, I firmly believe that you have to be willing to spend money in order to make it back.

Why is it important to you to empower women?

I love seeing other women have those moments where they realize how amazing, confident and capable they are. I believe that confidence is at the core of how happy we are, how we treat and feel about ourselves and how we treat others. For many years, I lacked confidence which led to unhappiness and feelings of negativity. I found my confidence through other’s empowerment, so it’s important to me that I give that back. I think when we empower other women, we not only help to boost each other's confidence but also our own.

How did you get engaged and where will your wedding be held?
My boyfriend proposed to me in December 2020 on my 30th birthday! We visited Asheville, NC for the weekend and after a magical few days, he planned a romantic proposal with the backdrop of the sun setting behind the Blue Ridge mountains.

We are getting married this May in Columbia, SC!

What advice do you have for planning a wedding during these times?

Focus on what you and your partner want above everything else. For us, we decided to do a micro-wedding so that we could still have the wedding we always dreamed of, while also keeping everyone we love safe. We’re setting up a livestream so that all of our family and friends who couldn’t join us in person can celebrate with us virtually!

What draws you to the Mestiza brand?

Many things drew me into the Mestiza brand including the fact that it’s women and minority owned, purpose driven and has beautiful and timeless designs. The pieces that are offered are unique, feminine, classic and extremely high quality.

How did you like your Mestiza piece?! Any details on how it fit or made you feel?
I was blown away by the craftsmanship of the stunning dress I received! It is so detailed and delicate, and I know it was made with love. The dress makes me feel sexy, confident and unstoppable. I can’t wait to wear it over my wedding weekend! It is a show stopper.

Stay consistent, surround yourself with supportive and loving people, and don’t compare your success to the next person (focus on you!).
